    BV7 expands!

News has reached us of a further addition to the ever popular BV7 range. With the BV4 now starting at 50", there is a gap in the range and a new even larger screen is being readied. It sounds as though this will be Full HD and will be Beosystem 3 based. A still larger BL7 - the 7.3 - is also rumoured.

We can therefore expect a full range from B&O spanning 23" all the way to 65" with a good variety of sets in the midrange. Anyone identify any gaps?

One snippet that is not well known it would seem is that B&O have launched a BV7 for the hotel trade only without the integral DVD player. No available to the general public though!

    Re: BV7 expands!

Seems like they will release the BV7-46 to fill in the gap.

It's surprising that they won't make available the non-DVD version to the public, given the DVD format wars some people will want to hold on the purchase of a TV set with DVD included. Also those BC2 owners will expect a TV without DVD. Strange..Confused

From a usually quite trustworthy source, I have have heard that there is currently no larger BV7 in the pipeline, but a new updated version of at least the 40", based on BS3 is closer than you might think :-)

Agree the new BV7 is imminent - and word is that there is no increase in price , at least for the UK!  Should be a very impressive set and full HD.

Price increases in the UK seem to be limited to the Beolab range.

So it seems in the Netherlands we will hold the record with a expected price-jump (for the BV7 40") of €1000,-

Looking good. However, I'm confused and no-one seems to be able to answer this:

What about the BV7-32? We know that an EU version of the HDMI-based BV7-40 is forthcoming. However, surely the BV7-32 isn't going to remain with a single DVI socket? That would be madness. No-one seems to know, not even the dealers. They know a revised BV7-40 is forthcoming (August/September for the UK), but have heard nothing about an upgraded BV7-32.

    Re: BV7 expands!

Very nice to see the addition of (long overdue) HDMI ports. Also find it a bit strange they added a VGA input but dropped the DVI input, with most PC's (or even the Mac Mini) having DVI output I would of thought DVI would stay, and considering you can't do HDCP over the VGA, it means connecting a PC to the BV7 you now need a DVI->HDMI converter.

Just looking at the picture again, has AV4 disappeared, or is AV4 the HDMI inputs, also where are the 4 audio inputs that are on the MKII - or is just part of the picture is missing?

    Re: BV7 expands!

You can't convert from DVI-D to VGA or visa-versa, but you can convert from DVI-D to HDMI and visa versa, and hence a VGA input actually makes a lot of sense, as some things like the XBox 360 will only connect via VGA or Component.

AV4 is the side input (S-Video).
    FSv2:
also where are the 4 audio inputs that are on the MKII

Each AV input has a digital audio in (SPDIF). HDMI sockets can be assigned to one of the AV.

    Hi all!

I'm quite new into the B&O's Lcd & Plasmas and I'm a little confused. Still have an old LX2500 but want a new and want to wait until the new 7-40 MkIII. But I wonder what "based on BS3" means. Do I have to buy more than the 7-40 to use it? Please help me as I if have to spend more money I might buy the "old" MKII before the new price.

All the best to you all!

    ;-) Jes

Whilst no one knows the exact spec yet you can be assured that the MK111 will be the largest improvement in panel electronics yet by B&O for LCD I would not buy the previous version unless its cheap!

Based on BS3 means that the processor used is the Beosystem 3 that is also used in the Beovision 9. In the UK, the price is not going up so wait for the new model as it will make a big difference and it will have a veritable mass of connections!

    Hi there,

I am new too.  Just waiting for my red 7-32 in Hong Kong.  Would DVI be sufficient for future HD TV upgrade?
