These are some of the products that we could see in the not to distant future:
- Portable speaker (some may say it looks like a lady´s handbag)
- New entry level TV (Feb-12, most likely) in 32" og 40". May not have link options, but priced below 20.000 DKK. Beautiful? It will launch a thread or two on this forum with its new design - but they went all the way with the stand options, including hanging it from the ceiling.
- Finally a new speaker - wall type / wall mounted (think BeoLab 4500)
- BeoSound 8 mkII with AirPlay (launched this side of Xmas)
- New plasma, think 4-60
- And some stuff we know about, like the 10-55. And the 8-40 will be history shortly (leaving the 4, 7 and 10 as the only video products until Feb-12)

Some might think that Struer has been listening what customers are asking for. Great stuff is this is true.

Roger: I was hoping that this thread would trigger more info from those that have more detailed information on each product.
Those, who KNOW and have first hand informations have an obligation of confidentiality. Usually these persons have to sign a non disclosure agreemet. If you breach a contract, you will be sued (and a liitle time later broke). Companies like Apple are acting this way since years ...

Very poor world isn't it when you can be sued over materialistic products!!! crazy!
Neither Apple nor Microsoft, Audi, BMW, B&O or ... have ever claimed to be the Salvation Army, a welfare organisation or a fanclub - they are companies protecting their vital interests. .

Panasonic has been making a 58" screen for some time. They now have the TH-60PF30U model that is 3D ready. This would be a possible choice?

Actually there is a big difference here and that is because of the new things are coming from B&O tease. There are B&O customers like myself who actually buy new products which are not entry level. I am not planning any purchases until I see what unfolds and if it takes too long to be revealed, I may look elsewhere. This is why I asked about Beonet.
Apple does tell everyone far in advance what is coming as in software and new features. In the case of the iPhone, Steve Jobs showed it 6 months before it was introduced. People waited for that phone because they knew in advance what it was and how it would work. I purchased the iPhone 1 the day it was introduced.
As for Microsoft everyone knows about Windows 8 and are planning accordingly.
The automobile companies put out tease photos quite often. Again if there is an all new radical car, everyone knows far in advanced. New cars designs are mostly sheet metal changes with some new features. Not a big deal.
I am pleased Bang and Olufsen has introduced entry level products and has a new product category. However they should not think the rest of us will be along for the ride only to find out the future is painted plastic from China.
I agree confidentiality is important, but we do need more information about future plans.

It's one thing to say that we're going to start a chain of family style Italian restaurants. It's quite another to tell people what we're putting in the meatballs.

Come on Trip, a whistleblower told me, danish butter, a czech cheese speciality and a lot of asian spices are under consideration ...

B&O have a tradition of not leaking information simply because they are very good at keeping secrets, not because they have sued anyone or have pushed their legal department on their fans or dealers. Others, as stated in this thread, leak information to the market to "sell on expectations" - B&O have never been a part of that game. I do hope that this will not change as I love the Struer approach far more than the Californa approach

Another wrong approach is releasing a press release of new products.....but not allowing them to be available to order. What's the point of that?
Again, learn from Apple. When announcing new products, allow your customers to be able to walk in to the store and see or buy them. Don't announce, release pictures, run news stories and send customers to your stores where the dealer says "no idea when we can order that...!".
Two examples:
1) New BV10-46 black. Stories, press release, images and more. Walk in to my dealer and it's not even on his system. He couldn't give me a price or order date.
2) New BS8 speaker covers. Press release, pictures and more. Ask my dealer if he has the red ones in stock and he doesn't, nor can he order them.
Simply, why? I've got zero problem with B&O being secretive over new products, but if you're going to release news stories all over the internet, you should have pre-stocked a small number of products with your dealers, first. Or at the very least, allow the dealer to order them on day one.

Who knows what's next? Only a privileged few I suspect, but to widen this discussion a little let me begin by saying I have owned B&O products for 20 years or more and still own several including a TV & stereo system. I love the brand and the products.
Like many on this forum I follow developments reported in the media about new products in the 'home entertainment' market and just in the past couple of months or so I have seen reports from major trade shows in the US, Europe & elsewhere. The pace of change and the new products being announced by major manufacturers such as LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Sharp etc is truly staggering.
To example TVs, I see internet connectivity being the 'norm', wireless connectivity, apps & app stores, movies on demand and gaming. I saw demonstrations from manufactuters of TVs which can transmit their onscreen content wirelessly to portable devices such as tablets enabling around the house viewing and vice-versa from tablet to big screen. I could go on and I'm sure many of you have seen this and more.
This is not intended to be a 'let's knock B&O again' posting, but seeing all this development and innovation taking place I just cannot see how B&O can possibly keep up.
Of course it may be the case that B&O will not try to chase the others, but this will surely confine them to being a specialist, niche product for a specialist, niche market. Nothing wrong with that of course, but how many forum members and more importantly members of the general product buying public will be prepared to sacrifice the latest advancements and pay a big price premium for doing without?

Roger,
and the new entry level TV would be the so called BV11? And the BV8-40 will be discontinued? Shame on it. Sounds not good in my opinion, there will be no real B&O telly for round 5k any more.

The BV8-40 HAS ALREADY BEEN DISCONTINUED LAST WEEK.
Contact your dealer for an ex-demo unit, for EUR 5000 I'm sure you'll get one.
