I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I believe efforts like this are best spent on parts that can't be bought anymore.

No matter how good your repros might be, they will only lower the resale value as long as Beosounds with original parts are available everywhere.

    Re: hmmmmm, glass windows

Basicly you are right to only reproduce parts which are no longer obtainable. I think that Leslie means that he has a pile of ouvertures and in my opinion to pay 130 euro for glass doors is al lot of money considering the value of a ouverture versus a 2300 or 3x00.  I do not think that amount of money  for original doors will add more value for these older beocenters  than good reproduction doors.

A while ago I have sold a BC2500 for 230 euro's. You really expect me to spend 130 for missing panels to make a Ouverture/BCxxx sellable (ready for sale)?

Hardly... if I had one, I'd certainly try doing the panels myself. I just don't see any business in it, and that was what I was commenting.

Why do you have three Ouvertures with broken doors? Big Smile

I have actually commented on very few of your projects. Consider the missing commentary as positive Wink

Personally I just think that it will be good to hear other points of view as well, not just smell of roses everywhere. When you list those machines for sale and tell that the doors aren't original, as I'm sure you will, many of the buyers will turn away.

Yes! There's already chrome, black and blue, so I think adding yet another colour would just distract. White might work well for a standalone unit with no BL2500's.

In my response I originally typed blue but deleted it because I thought there already had been a factory blue. Plus, I probably would have gone even further and suggested things like orange and even yellow! Laughing

I just don't see any business in it, and that was what I was commenting.

Never had any intention to do any business with selling panels like these and the other BM4500 I've made.

I'm a hobbyist remember and occasionally sell something from the 600 B&O items I have in my collection. Hobby work cost money and this is a way for me to finance. I'm not a reseller like some others here are on this forum. Only trying to help people on this forum looking for other ways to produce them other then buying "originals".  We have sponsors here who sell cables and brackets or am I wrong? Are these originals and obsolete?

I have plans to start officially as a reseller in the near future, but for now what I'm doing beside my work as an engineer, this is more fun!

    tournedos:

Who says I have three? This is a understatement

But sometimes it will help to use some friendly comments instead of giving critical comments all the time!

Don't think so, depends on the text and pictures you place e.g. on Ebay, again lots of people would like to have these as an alternative!

Wow. I'd love to see more encouragement for your efforts Leslie.

You have helped quite a lot of people over here and my self as well.

I think it's excellent to have alternative spare parts at least cheaper than the ones from B&O!!!

    Best regards

Your activities amount to gross desecration of iconic products. If it was up to me, B&O would be sueing you.Angry

You are gradually trashing some of the most superb designs of our age.

Now , it would appear, you are about to start on the Ouverture, with plastic doors and strange colours, no less!!
