    Driving in Denmark

    Hi all,

Slightly off topic but still B&O related...kind of!

I am driving over to Veno to visit Frede next week Yes - thumbs up and wondered if anyone had any helpful tips about driving there?

Looking forward to picking up my Beogram 4000

    Many thanks

Kind of funny, in DK they drive in the right side of the road, in the cities look out for bikers they can come from anywhere, and no right turn on red traffic light, keep the speed limits, there is not to much police on the road but they have a lot radar traps and its expencive.

Subjectively seen, there will be myriads of wrong-way drivers ...

Unless you have a good Sat Nav you'll never find Frede's house..

However, if/when you do - you'll be in heaven!  If the wonderful welcome and the cooking doesn't get you, the rare B&O collection will..

Frede and his lovely wife Kirsten are two of the most wonderful hosts you will ever meet. Enjoy!

When I drove my car through Copenhagen last year I thought the bikers, although plentyful, were very well behaved compared to the cyclists in Amsterdam. My guess is you will have no trouble at all. Also it must be nice not to drive on the sinister side of the road. Smile

    Re: Driving in Denmark

Well, been driving through Denmark today and have been terrorising Struer residents! wow, they like overtaking don't they! There's me sticking to the speed limits and Danish cars zipping past at warp speed!

Just had dinner at the Grand Hotel in Struer, ah yes don't forget they tend to serve only Earl Grey tea and no milk, spoons or sugar unless you ask Wink

Of to see Frede tomorrow..woohooBig Smile

If you go by bicycle, don't forget to raise a hand Yes - thumbs up to indicate that you are slowing down or stopping. It helps drivers behind you to take the right decision (overtake or keep slugging behind you or stop too).

when I learned to ride, you stuck your riight arm straight out to indicate a right hand turn (from the English side of the road); what do you use to turn on the near side ?  Some times I have seen and upside down L hand with the wrist going counter clock wise to indicate that sort of turn ...

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Right hand turn, right arm straight out, hand open fingers straight, left turn, left arm straight out, hand open, fingers straight.

DO NOT make a fist, this means: left fist, I will beat the sh1t out of you on the next left corner, with right hand, the same, but next right cornerBig SmileBig SmileBig Smile
