    IR eye for Beosystem 5500?

    Hi,

What kind of IR eye can I use for the Beosystem 5500?

Is it possible to use a later IR eye, perhaps modified, like this one?

    Thanks!

The original type was 2001 acording to the system manual for 1988/89 which I have in a original printed copy.

It looks like the old MCP type tranciver panel but has only a send and recieve circuit installed.

It should be connected via the SENSOR plug on the back of the BM5500.

It looks like one used MCP tranciver panel which I got. Grey with just the word sensor to the left and Bang & Olufsen printed to the right. The plug has 6 pins and the cable is grey.

I might sell it but it came with the very rare Beolink 1000 remote/code converter kit for BM6000/8000 which I still need a special cable for to be complete.

    I thought you might. Smile

Anyway I got no use for the code converter kit as its rather incomplete and Beolink 1000 option for BM6000 or BM8000 is not that important and I can wait for the day when a complete kit will turn up.

This means that yes you can have it. I looked through the system manual and it does confirm that item: 8920010 is the correct sensor for BM5500.

That is 4 fresh pictures taken with the system manual to confirm the right type. The bit in Danish says: Sensor Extra infrared send/receiver for Beosystem 5500. To be used when the Beosystem is placet in  an akward way in terms of remote distance like in a corner. Connection by 6 pin DIN plug.

Make me an offer by pm.

    Exactly my case!

    Thanks Anders! Smile
