mmc4 removal and way to test

hi can anyone help with the removal process of the mmc4 cartridge? i guess its a gentle tug and it will be free from the arm, or is it? my stylus sounds like its permanently got dust on it, this i guess is a sure fire tell tale sign of a worn stylus tip. any ideas.......

    cheers

I wouldn't remove it simply to clean dust off - use a stylus brush. These cartridges are prone to losing coil contact with the pins if they are removed too often.

If you really need to remove it then yes - a gentle pull should be all that is required.

The use of metaphors should be avoided like the plague. They're like a red rag to a bull to me.

With your left hand and 2 fingers, grab the TT arm (the one with the MMC) and hold it steady, with the other hand (right hand) and 2 fingers, grab the MMC and gently wiggle the MMC until it comes lose, then pull it straight out without bending the pegs. If you are lefthanded inverse the hands

With a multimeter check the coils across the pegs.
