Refurbishing a reel to reel Beocord 2400

My next project is refurbishing a Beocord 2400 deck. Lots of work needs to be done cosmetically. The deck is running though (at least now, not sure after) so thats good. I saw some belts inside that needs to be replaced, I discovered 2 at the moment, one certainly is for the counter and easy accessible. Martin (Dillen) have you got these belts available? I need other belts as well but they are on hold untill I know which one I need in total. Just to save shipping costs. Will post pictures later...

    Nice project !
These Beocords are built like a tank.
Sadly, I don't have the belts but the demand seems to be higher than ever so I will
be happy to look into having some produced.

You could say that Martin, the Beocord was packed in a banana box without any inside protection and it arrived safely and is still spinning.

Will order the other belt soon. Looking for others as well. Thanks!

Saliva is involuntarily pouring out of my mouth because I want an old Beocord 2400 reel to reel.  (And a Beogram 1000 with a stylus fitted for playing 78 rpm records.)

That's okay Rich, I'm used to hear and sometimes talk American slang. I work for an American company but never heard the word "drool".

Here's the link to my "restoration" Beocord 2400.

They are wonderful machines - I had one which still had the plastic over the controls , which I stupidly removed. I gave it to Tim as I really never used it. It needed the tape brake sorting but apart from that was perfect. It is the one that appears in the Jarman's book. The build quality is fantastic - as it should be - these were very expensive! About £2500 in today's money.

Peter, what do you mean with plastic over the controls? The build quality is indeed fantastic! Unfortanetely not an object to sell, cause this thing weighs a ton!

A small question: Can the 2400 work normally when standing in upright position? Take a look at pic 21 on picasa Smile

    Ahh okay ^^

I think that RMGI still makes 7" metal reels by the way.

Edit: They do, but you'll need NAB adaptors.
