Back in the early 80's the B&O dealer in Cheltenham decided to retire and sold the business on. Under the terms of the purchasers finance agreement, he could only buy that stock which was still sealed in the original box.
Included in the stock, at the time, was a NIB Beovision 5502 Colour TV. Unfortunately the box had been opened to enable fitting of the Teletext accessory so it could not pass to the new owner.
The retiring owner decided to take that stock that he could not sell, home with him, only to remain in a spare room in his cottage for the next 25+ years until he decided on a clear out and offered what was left to me.
Among the items that I have purchased is the 5502, still wrapped up in it's box, complete with a new "Mars Bar" remote!
I have no idea what it is worth, so have placed it in an eBay auction, starting at 99p and commencing tomorrow, Sunday 28.8.11
Pick up only and no warranty!
According to Beocentral, the chassis is still unequalled in it's quality. This 5502 shoud be an excellent buy for a B&O connoisseur.
Rules permitting, I will post a link to the auction on here when it starts as I would rather that the TV went to one of us.
Sale now started at http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/B-O-Bang-Olufsen-Beovision-5502-Colour-Television-/130568667108?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_Televisions&hash=item1e667fbfe4
Other items that will eventually be sold are a Beomaster 1400M, Beocenter 4000, Beolab 4400, Beogram 8000, Beolit 707 (Red), Beocord 1200 and Beocord 2000 as well as a number of superb (demo use only) MMC20CL catridges.
