    Beolink 1000 help

Hi guys, I'm hoping you can help me.

We've had a B&O audio system since the early 90's, and it's moved houses and countries with us. However, a few years ago we managed to break our last Beolink 1000 and had no real way of controlling the sound system. This year while on holiday in France we found a B&O shop which had, luckily, one Beolink 1000 left. However, now that we are trying to use it, the system clearly does not at all respond to it (I checked, the batteries work fine). Is there some sort of programming or recognition that has to be done for the remote to work with the system?

Any help would be great, my mum's been nagging me to fix the system for ages now.

I think we have the Beolab Penta Active speakers, but I'm not sure. And I can't find what our audio system is, but if it helps I can take a photo of it.

    Thanks!

    Re: Beolink 1000 help

You can check if the BL1000 sends IR signals using a digicam - eg. the one into your cell phone. Look to the camera display while viewing your BL1000 - if you press any key, you´ll see 2 light spots onto the head of the BL1000 on the display.

One of the most issues with BL is the loosen cable on the battery cage - you might open up the BL1000 and check the cable - if needed, you can solder it easily.

    Regards

    Tom

Welcome to Beoworld ... hope you stay !

Just a thought, the Beolink 1000 should work on modern gear ... find a friendly store (like the one who sold it to you!) and test drive it there

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

first put the audio in standby and try SOUND 1 STORE on the BL1000. Watch if the standby led reacts. Then try to control your audio with your BL1000

    Thanks for the quick replies!

Your digicam idea was great, the IR signals are very well visible through the camera, so the remote definitely functions.

The problem must be getting the system to recognize it. We can't go back to the store that sold it to us since it's in another country (we bought it while on vacation). I will try the SOUND 1 STORE (three buttons pressed in sequence, right?) and see if that works.
