Hi folks!
I currently own a Mk 1 Beocom 6000, purchased in 1999. It's been fantastic, definitely the best cordless phone I've ever owned. The other day it was monkeying around a little - when i tried to answer the phone it wasn't working so I missed the call, pressing the answer button had no effect. When i tried getting a dial tone subsequently I was just getting a high pitched intermittent beep. I removed the battery and reinstalled it but the phone was then completely dead. So I charged it and it came back to life but wasn't connected to the base station. I reconnected it and it's been fine since so I'm assuming it was all caused by an almost dead battery.
ANYWAY, this event led me to wonder about getting a Beocom 1 and if the two are compatible? Could I connect a Beocom 1 phone to my 6000 base station?
I looked at the Beocom 1 system and according to the sales guy at the local B&O store, you have to buy THREE pieces of equipment - the phone, the base station and the charger. On my 6000 the base station IS the charger. What gives? Is he telling fibs so he can sell me something I don't need? Why would they split them up in such an annoying fashion? Considering B&O's typically simple design, it is counter intuitive that they'd make it more complicated than necessary.
Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks!
