BeoCom 1401 base, Help me :(

I was fiddling with my 1401 base and i ended up taking the lid off of the thing. I looked for a service manual b ut couldn't find one, does anybody know how to get the thing apart?

There is no service manual only a user guide and I have never had the need to take the base part. What is the problem you are trying to resolve ?

    Regards Keith....

I'm trying to get behind the battery compartment to get the pins back in place so that the lid opens and closes properly (I accidentally knocked the lid off it's pins), I'll keep trying, and thanks for the reply, i just don't want to damage it!

I have a BeoCom 1401 and didn't know there was a battery in the base unit. My handset connects straight back to the phone socket and doesn't seem to have a need for battery power, the base just supports the handset and holds some post it notes. Are you sure it's a 1401 - does it look like this http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=427?

sorry, yes it's certainly a 1401 but the compatment is a 'dummie'... look behind the post it notes and there is a flap that opens to the left. there resides the compartment where batteries would go - in the beotalk 1400. i just bought a beotalk base and i wanted to swap the lids because my 1401 base has the current bang and olufsen logo... call me compulsive ;)

Ah, I see. Sorry to question your post - I have never seen a BeoTalk 1400 before. If it was still available I may have bought one instead of a BeoCom 1401 & BeoTalk 1200. Happy fiddling, and I hope you end up with the solution some time soon.
