    repair of s45's (woofers)

    I have a pair of S45's that are in desparate need of repair of the woofers. Any tips on where I can get these repaired? I live in the Atlanta metro area.

    Thanks in advance!

    If the cones have locked solid (they do that in transport if magnets wasn't glued),
    the only cure is to replace the woofer with a good used original.
    What happens is that the glue that holds the magnet to the woofers metal basket losens
    and the magnet will just need a gently bump in either direction to relocate and lock itself
    to the outer metal parts, squeezing the voicecoil firmly against the side.
    The cone then feels like it has been welded in place.

    The same thing happens with other Peerless drivers from that period, Beovox P45 etc.

    'Heard a lot of good things about Modular Electronics in Roswell, GA.  Benny Amina is the owner, and gets mentioned here on the forum occasionally.

    Seconded.

    Current primary listening:  SMMC20EN -> BG4002 -> BM4000 -> Beovox M70

    Sorry for the delay in responding. I am taking the speakers today to Modular Electronics to be repaired. Thanks for the pointer!
