    Beolab 8000 mk2 + Beolab 11

    Dear all

Been considering a pair of BL8000 Mk 2 with Beolab 11 for living room, for TV and stereo.  I am researching opinion on matching BL11 with BL8000 Mk 2.  I can only find forum postings relating to BL6000 with BL11, which have on the whole been very positive.  Anyone out there able to comment on the above (BL11 with BL8000 Mk 2)??.

    Many thanks

    Regards

    Jon

Hi Jon , I have never tried the mk 2 8000's. If you are considering a subwoofer why bother spending the extra money on the added base that the mk 2 are supposed to have?

I have tried the lab 11 and lab 2 with mk 1 8000's and for me its the lab 2.

Perhaps you should consider trying both and save a a few bob on a used pair of mk 1's

That is a very good point re-no need for mk2 necessarily if pairing with sub; thanks!!

I'm still wondering which sub is better for music I have tot say. The 2 gives a lot of bass, but it fails on dance or faster pop music. I don't know how the 11 behaves with this kind of music?

Give the PV1 from B&W a try (most B&O style). You will not find one disappointed guy from beoword.

    BeoVision 8-40, ATV2, BeoSound 4, Front BeoLab 9, Rear Beolab 4000 MKII, Beo 4

    Re: Beolab 8000 mk2 + Beolab 11

I would buy MK2 cause of age (of the membranes); even the MK2 are already old and if you have to change any speaker the saved money (MK1) is gone; on my opinion the MK2 needs a subwoofer as well; I'm really disappointed cause my MK2s produce an annoying sound playing loud (50 onwards on a BS9000/BS5) - the speaker cloth vibrates in front of the bass-reflex air outlet - so I imagine that this could be prohibited with a BL2/BL11
