I have just a bught an Avant Type 8133 on an auction site.
I live in Hungary, our PAL system is B/G, but the set has the PAL-I system. I can not tune in stations with cable TV with sound, only with picture and white noise.
According to the service manual, many Type revisions share the same I/F board, the PCB 8008326.
So I tried to change the in Service menu the Region value, so it can tune many PAL standards.
But it can't.
With B/G setup, it tunes, and gets sound with white noise.
So, the question is:
do i need to buy an add-on board 8008325, to make the set tune in perfectly, or should it be enough to set it up in the software way, and there's something bad with my tv set?
other thing:
it has just switched off once(after hours of use), service menu says: Last TV Error 84-2, Last ML/SL error: CI.
