    Welcome to Beoworld.

The BeoVOX penta's were passive speakers & only one incarnation were produced which would make them MK1's I suppose. It was the BeoLAB (active/powered) penta's which came in MK's 1,2 & 3.

Quite a difference as pointed out between Beovox and Beolab Pentas. If there is a grey box at the base, it is a lab. A Beovox is easy to connect - two pin DIN speakers cables are all you need.

thank you for the replies guys, this ones are gray on the base and they have red & black standard connectors plus it came with a set of original speaker cables with a 4 pin connector, so are this the Boevox, or Beolab? and do you think it was a good purchase?

    Hi,

The cracking noise will probably be down to a bad solder joint somewhere in the Beomaster. I had a similar symptom with my Beomaster 8000 and this was te solution (several dry joints on the amplifier circuit board)!

As always, a new set of caps should be contemplated!
