    Beograms are getting expensive!

    Here!

Edited. Have you seen the prices these Beograms fetch these days?

Oops, sorry. I hadn't realized the seller was Graham.

I apologize, please erase my post, make me disappear from the surface of the planet...

    Cool

    Thanks for this opportunity.

Yes, I am beo4life on eBay! Since, to do so on here is contrary to the rules of the site, I rarely advertise the fact.

I sell quite a few of these as well as Beogram 3500, 4500 and 6500. Each one is thouroughly serviced and fitted with a brand new drive belt from B&O spares stock. Both speeds are then checked with a Keystrobe disc and adjusted if necessary.

Each deck is then fitted with a newly refurbished cartridge. I get ALL my cartridges refurbished by Axel to their ORIGINAL specification and he does batches of 6-10 at a time. If the deck was originally supplied with an MMC2 with contact line diamond on a sapphire cantilever then that's the spec that it is refubished to. This is considerably more expensive than the normal refurb of spherical diamond on an aluminium cantilever.

Then they all get tested into a Beomaster 6500 amplifier with Beolab 5000 speakers using a selection of recordings on 180 or 200 gram vinyl.

And finally..........they are all guaranteed to arrive with the customer in the same condition that they left me in.

You get exactly what you pay for in this world, I do NOT sell Meccano kits!

    Regards Graham

Axel really is superb - he has done a few cartridges for me and he workmanship is superb. I agree with Graham - you get what you pay for. Frede restores the Beolab 5000 system and asks a good but completely fair price. To get a Beogram working properly requires care and attention. The problem is that you see Beograms on eBay, much as you see Beolab 5000s, and you compare prices. And there is no comparison! Apples and oranges.

    Re: Come on!

    Yes Peter I entirely agree.

First of all I hadn't realized who was behind Stemma... Again, sorry.

But eBay is full of eager peole who sell objects which are in fact "just changing hands with err... a profit" !

Of course not the case here.

They are getting costly nonetheless, until you realize they are not made anymore, and that serious sellers have actually spent hours refurbishing them to pristine condition. I know!
