Difference in Beomaster 900 and Master 610 recievers?

I'm just wondering what the difference is between the two of these radios.  I have a Master 610, but when I look at the pics online of the 900, they really look alike.

A while ago I had a thread running about the 610 not having the stereo module in because it wouldn't play stereo when the radio was tuned, but would when my turntable was connected.  However, now I'm wondering if its because I've been running it on 110v power?  The back does not have a provision to switch beween different voltages,  but when I got the radio it had a North American plug on the end of it.  Everything "seems" to work, except stereo reception for radio.

The radio front and back say that it is "STEREO".  Am I missing something?

I believe 610 never had provisions for installing a stereo decoder, and it's certainly not a standard feature. Not nearly all 900s have it either, but in those, there is a plug for it inside and it requires no other modifications.

I don't think the receiver would work at all if you were trying to run it at half the specified voltage, so you must have a 110V version (either original or modified).

The 610 was probably fixed in design before the method for FM stereo broadcasting was even agreed upon, at least in Europe.

We've had a couple of threads about the Master 610 recently.
    This is one of them:

    Great reading.

So...should I plug the radio into a transformer to get 220v?  If someone did something so it would run on 110v, what exactly would they have done?

As a side note...I have a Beovision 7000 (220v) that I run on 110v.  The only thing it seems to affect is that I have to press the beolink remote twice to get the tv to respond to commands.
