I think to much emotion for some which could lead to discussions that some people do not appreciate, like the Japan disaster thread. That's just a guess!

I started a thread about the share price recently - this was met with a "mod" message, and never appeared.  Not sure why not though..?

Not me but I think it was going in an unfortunate direction. I think very few threads are deleted except for spam but some do get removed if they may be offensive or distressing to members.

There is a dedicated forum for this type of threads, the BeoWorld life style choice. There is the place for SAAB, music choice, latest movies, dead artist etc. General forum is for B&O, and general questions. If we should start posting everything here, I would for sure loose interest for this site. Best regards, Daniel

I didn't see the topics about MJ and GM, but they doesn't belong here neither. I've got more interests than B&O so I'm active on many fora. I don't talk B&O there and I don't talk about those interests here. Next time AW dies, feel free to post it in BeoWorld Lifestyle Choices. Im sad to discover we now ended up in the discussion the moderator wanted to avoid. Best regards, Daniel

    Indeed.

Can't remember the MJ or GM threads, but if they weren't in the music, film & lifestyle subforums, they were equally off topic.

I'm personally very annoyed with all RIP threads that appear on unrelated hobby forums. I can read the news myself, and if I want to discuss any death or disaster, I'll do it somewhere that has something to do with the subject. This is a Bang & Olufsen forum, we pay by the megabyte for server space and resources, and we can't have every celebrideath or accident discussed here.

In addition to being off topic, the deleted thread immediately turned to the wrong direction. Recently, a couple of hundred people died in a river boat accident in Russia, dozens of people were killed in train & bus accidents in China and India, and last some lunatic shot 90 kids in Norway. I'm sure many people (including me) find it outright inconsiderate when we now have to read about some starlet who tried to kill herself for years and finally succeeded.

I sincerely hope this topic is now allowed to die, and we can delete it as well from wasting resources and upsetting people.

Keep in mind that "de Konings" intention were good though like the other thread members of MJ and GM. I can surely remember them... But if people get annoyed or using bad words then hey!

The reason the thread was deleted was really because the way it was going was likely to cause offense to either Amy Winehouse fans or Norwegians. The moderator involved took a decision that this was only going to end in tears - I completely support his decision. If it had not gone in this direction, I would have supported it moving to the Lifestyle forum. I am very sorry that some have been upset by this decision but I hope you agree that the moderating team here are very hands off compared to most sites.

I will close this thread tonight after seeing the latest Harry Potter film!
