new iTunes contains health warning (lol)

In parallel with the launch of Apple's LION there is a new iTunes for all Apple users

    http://www.macrumors.com/2011/07/20/apple-releases-itunes-10-4-as-64-bit-cocoa-app-for-lion/

however it contains a Health Warning that not all plug-ins may work.

I guess its a race between Phillipe and myself to see who gets to test LinkPlayer and/or BMLink first.

I won't get to this until the Australian Saturday, so I suggest the rest of you hold off until one of us has road tested this one for you !

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Is there any risk BM-Link or Linkplayer will not work with Lion? I am currently downloading Lion to my iMac...

I tested the beta of Lion and an unmodified LinkPlayer (i.e. Phillippe has been busy on re-architecting the new LinkPlayer rather than simply porting to Lion).

I found that LinkPlayer worked most of the time, but sometimes a Beo4 (GO) button would make its Media Centre Menu disappear abd the selected option would not be activated.  I had no problems with using my bluetooth keyboard and its enter key [the equivalent of (GO) I think].

So minimal risk, but I will be upgrading to the production version this weekend, and I will let you know what I find out.

I have just installed Lion to be able to test the new version of LinkPlayer.

LinkPlayer isn't an iTunes plug in, so it shouldn't be impacted by the new version of iTunes.

If you do have LinkPlayer on a standalong Mac (Media Center), then I think there is no goo reason to upgrade to Lion, as it wouldn't bring much, and would remove FrontRow.

Lion is a very good upgrade for a Mac that is not a dedicated MediaCenter though. Really like it.

BM-Link appears to work OK with Lion. Bought myself a 27" iMac - lovely screen. Also re-routed the sound - optical out to DAC Magic thence to Beomaster 5500 and to Beoport. Sound is much better than before.

Downloaded iTunes 10.4 to my Lion beta and tested BMLink and it is working fine.

So that's BMLink on 64 bit platform talking to iTunes running in 64 bit mode.

Track details are successfully transmitted around the masterlink to be displayed on my Beosound 4.

I did not test LinkPlayer 'cause I know Phillippe has :-)
