BeoNet specifications: have a look at this..

    Hi BeoWorlders,

For those of you who are wondering what B&O has planned for us to replace the Masterlink system, here is a link I just found on the net:

    www.abo-center.dk/Abo.../Cat7%20New%20B&onet%20handbook.pdf

We all know that BeoNet is on the way, however there's been little info about what's possible & how it works; I think this handbook will be useful to many of us!

Besides, it's been made by B&O themselves.

    Reunion Island is greeting you!

Despite the name, it just looks like the "good old way" to create a PL/ML network with (tons of) Ethernet cables... Not a digital BeoNet

    Well found!!Big Smile

I think the point is that when the BeoNet does come out, this wiring will allow the new system to work through this wiring where fitting masterlink cable will not.

We know that the new system will work with Ethernet cables... But keeping this cabling with the new BeoNet can't work (for instance they are connecting Beolabs directly to an Ethernet cable, with PL>>RJ45 adapters).

The only thing you will keep is the cabling (and that's already good news).

    mbee:

This is same manual that has been available for some time - matches my copy - Version 1 0909.

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Talking about integration between ML products and the new BeoNet devices, there's no mention at all about BeoNet connection/interaction in the new BS5 Encore's user & product guides.Hmm

Thats because this is the handbook for the "passive" Network Link system (ie. ML/PL replacement for "legacy" products).  An Active Network Link setup is pretty different but I've yet to see how the two will actually come together.
