BEO LINK 5500 Trouble shooting - Help Please

I am newbie on this site-  I have a B&O  Link 5500 hi fi with    with CD and tape desk.

The CD and tape deck work fine. However as of late I am having trouble with radio.  It switches itself off for not apparent reason.

Also I often -  get NO CONTACT on the master panel.  I can usually fix it by turning the mains power off and on.

The CD and tape deck work find but he radio suffers from the above. I have replaced the batteries in the master panel and the remote/

Is there anything else I can check?  Some time ago  it lost all the pre-sets and I had to re set them. It now seems to retain the pre-sets but the radio is still not reliable - and just shuts down after 5 minutes.   I thought it might some overheating or dust?

    Not sure where to start.

    Hello and welcome to Beoworld!

Chck the cooling fins of the Beomaster; Are they getting really hot after a few minutes of operation? If they are, the output transistors are running too hot. This can normally be cured by replacing the two potentiometers controlling the "bias".

I have had that and dealt with the problem on my own Beomaster 5500.

The "NO CONTACT" problem might be a capacitor issue.

It sounds to me as if the Beomaster 5500 needs servicing - electronics do drift out of true and it may be that some components are now causing the system to shut down. One sign of this is if the device runs hot. These systems are serviced quite easily if you are electronically trained so I would find a repair shop. The manuals are on site for silver and gold members.
