Any news on the cost of this additional input module?
Or can any USB ADC be used?
Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

How can you stream from a wireless iOS device?
I'm about to go on holiday with a friend who has a BeoSound 5 on his boat, we cant put music on to the BeoSound 5 as none of us will have a laptop, so this would be a great way of getting the music we want to listen to playing on the boat, rather than having to play CD's on the on-board BeoCenter 2!

As usual there are no specifications or instructions with the update. I guess we will have to "stay tuned". The update worked without any problems so far.

I would guess it is probably like the setup described for the Beosound 5 Encore. Peter posted the user guides for the Beosound 5 Encore.

The BeoSound 5 userguide has been updated already on the B&O site. It says "You can listen to music from an external device, such as a smartphone or a computer, on the speakers of your music system. The device must be connected to the same network as BeoSound 5 and an application on your device is required to communicate with BeoSound 5. Once communication is established, the ‘control’ over BeoSound 5 is taken by the external device. There is no mention of what this "application" is and no indication of it on the iTunes app store yet.
The userguide also mentions an optional bluetooth dongle for adding bluetooth devices to the A.Aux.

Thanks beojeff for the information. That user guide wasn't there when I looked.

That would be too easy!!!
The User Guide certainly looks as if they are improving things and tempting me into buying one!
The streaming wirelessly from an iOS device bit looks as if it could just be AirPlay via an AirPort Express which then in turn plugs into the USB to Phono device.
The other option looks to be Bluetooth, has anyone got a bluetooth dongle that they could try with the system?
If not does anyone know which USB to phono device will work?? Would be great to get one before I go away on Thursday afternoon!

After downloading the s/w, I picked up my LG Win7 phone and pressed the "Play To" icon on the front screen of the phone. It scanned and found the BeoMaster 5 after 1-2 sec, and gave me the option to select music, pictures or video. Selected pictures stored on my phone just for fun and they showed up on screen, then I selected an album stored on my phone and it was instantly played through my BL5's - with the album art popping up on the BeoSound 5 screen as well as on the phone.
Suddenly my phone became what the Beo5 should have been from day one: a true interactive product.
My BeoMaster 5 is hardwired into an Apple Time Capsule that also takes care of my wifi.
Simplest upgrade ever on the BS/BM5. And what a radical step in functionality.
I guess I will need an app for my other phone, the iPhone?

Unfortunately the "A.AUX-feature" - which is great - only works, when BS5 is set to AUDIOMASTER.
Mine is not, I have a BS9000 in my setup...
And still no two-way-communication. Not mentionend on the info display. Seems to be another (earlier?) SW version, than the one, that some members got two months ago.

I liked the fact that even if my BM5 doesn't have a wifi-dongle, antenna etc, it worked through the Apple Time Capsule. And there was no delay when switching between albums/tracks.
Problem now is that my LG Win7 doesn't compare to my iPhone with respect to internal storage - I guess a memory card will sort this out, but I do hope that an iPhone app will be available soon. That said, the LG Win7 offers a more intuitive and nicer looking interface when browsing the music collection.

There are plenty of apps available; here is a starter list for a number of platforms that I found from googling "UPnP/DLNA apps". This seems to be just another technology that snuck up on me. Gizmoot for iPhone is free, but I couldn't get it to work. Next for me is Twonky Mobile, at $2.99, to try later.
