    Amplifier for BeoGram 1202

Hello, can I use a BeoMaster 901 amplifier with the BeoGram 1202? If this isn't suitable, then which amplifier would be better?

    Thanks

Absolutely. As you can see from the brochure pic on the Beomaster 901 info page we have here, they probably were sold together at some time Smile

(not sure if that is actually a 1202 in the picture, but it doesn't matter - they'll still work and look great together)

Also any thoughts on which speakers to go for with the 1202...as you can see I'm new to this!

No problem, I ran my BG 2404 with the BM 901, but with the age of the items they may need some service/cleaning/repair/adjustments.

I use a pair of Beovox S45, but smaller like P 30 (wall) or S 25 will also do, you can connect nearly all Beovox passive speakers, but also here its a question of what you can get used, and again with age speakers will also need repair and/or service.

Thank you - would a pair of S35s work?

No problem, but check driver surrounds and crossovers.

    Rachel,

If you want to stay absolutely in period, then a pair of Beovox 2702s or 1702s would be perfect.

The 2702s are lovely speakers - I owned a pair over 35 years ago - but are prone to the dreaded foam rot.  The 1702s are almost as good, are a bit smaller and don't suffer from foam rot.  I have been using mine in a variety of situations and I think they are a very viable and cheaper option for the smaller room than the CX series.

The speakers in the photo on the link posted above are 1702s!  brochure pic
