VX7000 fascia trim on cassette lid.

Bought an MX7000 and VX7000 for my parents, the VX appears to have part of the trim missing from the video cassette flap or lid. There is a thin clear plastic dust excluder, should there be a black perspex trim in front of that on the flap fascia? If so what is the item called? I have just ordered a 'cassette lid' from the new B&o shop Derby, only to find that its not the part that may be missing! Great service, part came in two days, just hoping they will accept it as a return!

The problem is when staff go into  the spares menu there is just a list of parts without any illustrations of the item. Does anybody have a decent jpg of the above which I could show/email to the dealer?

    Kind regards

    Dave

Dave I have a VX7000, if you want I can take a picture of the Cassette flap if that is what you need.

Top Bloke! Is that a Triumph in your Avatar? I have a T160 Trident bought it new when I was 17!

The transparent plastic dust excluder attached to the cassette lid, pressumably should be behind some perspex trim Craig?

Well spotted Dave, that is my new toy. It is a 1998 Trimph 900 Legend. it has only covered just under 5000 miles. Only had it for week. not had much chance to play though. Not very good weather for bikes at the moment. Took it to Donnington last Sunday, for the market not the track. Managed a wet run out last night too. Where is the Summer?

Anyway back to the VX7000. send me a PM of your e-mail address and I will send you some pictures.

    Cool!

I have a 1953 Tiger T100, second owner, bought it in 1982.  Still on the road on a sunny day.

I have 2 vx7000's and neither have any sort of clear perspex dust excluder on the cassette flap. My service manual shows the part number of the cassette flap as 3164915

    Hope this helps!

    Regards Graham

Re: VX7000 fascia trim on cassette lid.

Hi Joey, It's a thin plastic film in front of the cassette lid, which acts as a dust excluder, I think that this should be coverd with a black perspex trim to match the rest of the facia.

    Hope this makes sense!

    Cheers

Not apparent on either of mine. I've just got black plastic flap!

I remember a slim cover, hard to photograph! as you can see! But there was one there attached to the lower part of the flap.
