    Are these Bi-Polar capacitors?

Can someone enlighten me here please; Are capacitors C1 (47uF) on board 60 and C2 (68uF) on board 66 Bi-Polar? The diagram is from the PSU section of a Beocenter 9500.

At least according to the schematic symbols, they are. They both seem to be passing AC so there must be a reason - odd circuitry nevertheless.

Seems to be a voltage doubler, not sure why...?
