Hi all
I went to have a look at a Beocenter 3500 today which turned out to be one of the later black fronted ones with green cross hairs. As luck would have it, whilst it was working when I got there, a few button pushes later and it stopped working and couldn't be resurrected. I didn't hear it running as there were no speakers connected, so I also had no way of verifying if the turntable worked. It was in reasonable cosmetic condition - no major scratches on the front, the sliders were clear, there was a stylus (condition unknown), there were a few scrapes on the turntable cover and the preset cover was missing. I did spot that most of the lamps seemed to be working before it died.
So, to the point of this post - the chap didn't want much for it in the first place and even less after it died (naturally), however I walked away as I actually prefer the look of the earlier plain aluminium versions - I've been wondering since whether it may be a bit of a rarity and so worth saving. I've done a bit of searching and seen one other member make reference to their black BC3500 but wondered how many of these things might be out there (as it seems they were only made for a year) and so whether I should be going back to buy it?!?
All and any thoughs would be very welcome!
Thanks in advance
W
