i have 6000 titles on a HD and want to transver them onto my Beomaster. Any faster way to transfer the iTunes files ?

You can plug your HDD into one of the USB inputs and plug a keyboard/mouse into the second input of the BeoMaster 5. Enter the service menu and file transfer the data. You need to know what you are doing so I recommend you seek assistance from your local dealer who might be able to assist for a small fee!

My BM5 pops up as a network drive in Mac OSX (called BMSHARES). I just plug all devices in the router with cables and start transferring. That is pretty fast..

An interesting topic! I also have BS 5/BM 5 combo. I have 3TB FLAC files on USB HDD. Some of them I transfer into BM via Wi-Fi. My BM5 pops up as a network drive in MS W7 (called BM-Share$). Some songs, albums and covers cannot be seen and heard and I'm not sure why. Should I use cable? What is the easiest way to transfer FLAC files?
    Thank you in advance!

    Huh?

That's five megabytes per second, or a pretty good saturation for a 100 Mbit/s network, given that the data actually comes from somewhere and is being stored somewhere else, instead of just a dummy transfer for a benchmark...

I rip my own cd's with a free program named Exact audio copy.

    For the covers I use Mp3tag V2.48.

BM/BS 5 have a problem with Hi-Res 24/96 FLAC-s! Some of them I can not transfer at all to BM 5. Then again some I can without a problem. What could be an issue. Is it bad support for FLAC from B&O. It's sucha pitty to downgraid Hi-Res material to mp3, WMA or WAV! Any chance they will hotfix the software or something?
    Thanks A.

BM 5 is kind of a computer, right? How to prepare him to play Hi-Res FLAC's from internal HDD and external USB HDD drives. BM 5, a 5k€ computer can't do what 300€ notebook can? B&O is laying that we have full FLAC support. Why don't they honestly write down that we do not have full Hi-Res FLAC support for it.

My Hi-Res FLAC files are legaly bought on HD-tracs! Super Angry

    Hi Everybody,

I would like to apologise to all my forum-colleagues and B&O, off course. It wasn´t BeoMaster’s 5 fault, but my music files were very unordered.

To play this music files and to get the artwork properly on display, it was necessary to arrange ID-tags for each song separately and for whole album.

My BeoSound 5/ BeoMaster 5 combo works just perfect, now.

I have solved the reproduction of Hi-Res 24/96 FLAC with conversion to WAV 24/96 format.

I am very happy to inform you now about my positive experience, about excellent sound reproduction, fast response and ...garnish in my living room.

My apologies again and best regards to all.

I went on HD Tracks Saturday, downloaded the 24/96 FLAC free sampler, and transfered the files to BM5 using BeoConnect.  They worked perfectly with no conversion required.  As stated, the artwork tags require fiddling.  These tracks do sound very good, and recommend at least trying out the sampler.

Re: Is BeoConnect the only way to get Musik onto his BM 5 Beomaster ?

I have imported all my CDs (500+) to iTunes. Thinking of getting a BS5. Can I just connect the MacBook to BM5 and send them over? Will this include album covers?

Depends on the format that you imported them into iTunes.  If you used Apple Lossless, then these cannot be played by BM5.  If you used AAC or MP3, then yes, that's about all there is to it.  If you used FLAC, then, last time I tried (a few months ago), BeoConnect didn't like those so I had to transfer using Finder.  The artwork comes automatically.

How do I check this? I just insert the CD, iTunes start and ask me if I wan't to import and I accept. No questions about format.
