I recently bought a 2300 system with beolab 2500 speakers off ebay as a starter.
In the near future I am looking to move house and set up speakers in different rooms and was wondering if it was possible to have multiple speakers connect with the 2500.
I was thinking maybe a beokab 2000 in the bedroom and a pair of 6000's for another room.
Ipod or computer linking is not an issue as I recently bought the Beosound 8.
Kind Regards for any advice...!

Welcome to BeoWorld! I think the first advice is: Enjoy your Bang & Olufsen system!
And now for the technical part. You need a T1611 converter to be able to connect a Master Link system to your BeoCenter 2300. After that you can connect up to 15 ML products to your BeoCenter 2300.
A BeoLab 2000 can be connected to the T1611 converter. To connect the BeoLab 6000 speakers in another room you need a T1636 BeoLink Active. But do you also have a B&O television you want to connect to your system?

No TV. I rarely watch TV. Simply I just need music in other rooms.
I don't even need to control the music from other rooms. I would just like to play a CD and listen to in on various speakers around the house.

It´s not possible to add Beosound 8 into a link system.

Understood. I was using the beosound 8 seperate anyway with an Ipod connected.
Surely I must be able to just add a pair of 6000 speakers or similar to my existing beosound 2300.
Run 2 extra speakers as well as the beolab 2500's. I just want a simple system without the need for control all over the house. just play a cd on my system and it come out of extra speakers??

Yes, yoa can add BL6000s by using a Powerlink Y-splitter. The speakers will also get on-off commands via Powerlink. So, all speakers will be on or off.
BTW: "Beo`s "All over the house control" is simple.

How do you mean simple??
I understand the beolab 2000's has control by selecting tape/radio/cd etc but is this possible with powerlink as my unit is older or would I need to get adaptors to masterlink?

Run power link cables from speaker to speaker, each BL 2500 has 2 power link connections, BL 6000 as well, the 2300 also, so from 2300, 1 power link to BL 2500 R or L and from R to L, 1 powerlink from 2300 to BL 6000 R or L and from R to L or visa versa, on the last connected BL you will have an empty powerlink connection that one you can connect to more BL speakers.
One powerlink cable runs trigger power and lines for both R/L speakers, if the BL has 2 PL connections you can use one cable from 2300 to R BL from R to L BL, just remember to set the BLs selector to L or R
Beosound 3000, BL 4000, BL 8000, BG 2404,BG 5000, BG CD50, Beocord 5000, BM 901, BM 2400, BM 4000, BV S45, BV 3702. There is nothing we cannot do, but a lot of things we don't want to do!!

I forgot, as the BS 8 has no line out, get a cable that connect Ipod to AUX in, in the 2300, that way you can play your Ipod as well

I mean simple to install and simple to use. You just need one Beolink converter (1611) for your Beosound and you can connect BL2000, BL3500, Beolink active, passive, all newer Beovisions in linkrooms with Beo4/6 control from every linkstation and independant volume control via one single Masterlink cable. This is not possible if you just add speakers - but it will work too.

1) Powerlink mark 1 cable is only useful for non-digital Beolab speakers without displays.
2) Powerlink mark 2 can be used for ANY Beolab speaker with 8pin sockets.
3) Powerlink mark 3 can be used for any Beolab speaker WITHOUT displays EXCEPT Beolab 5.

Is it possible to have the beosound 2300 with beolab speakers on one rooms with a pair of 6000's connected directly to them then using a beolink converter add a BL 2000 in say a bedroom so it has independant control.
I have looked around and can get the converter for about £60. (I think!)

Thanks.
So I just need a beolink converter? 1611 I was told
I presume I could daisy chain the 6000's with the beolab 2500's which are already on the BC2300.

For your setup with BL2000 you need a BL converter - 1611 - an AUDIO AUX LINK cable (7pin DIN plugs), a Masterlink cable and ofcourse a BL2000.
Yes, you can daisychain BL2500 and BL6000 via Powerlink connected to your BC2300. You won`t have independant control between these two speakers. But you will have independant control between this (main) setup and BL2000 (link) setup.
You can find interesting info about Beo-setups on the Beotech site. Masterlink setups with BL converter and BL2000: http://www.beoworld.org/beotech/options3.htm
Hope this helps.
