Backpacking is a lot cheaper:

Travel with backpack or carry on.

Buy a cheap ticket, (Jumper ticket with a lot of stops) USD 700.00

With a cheap ticket you will have to stay for at least 7 days.

Getting to Copenhagen, go to the Central Trainstation get out and buy a sleeping bag, 30-50 USD (or Martin can lend you one)

Before leaving get a rail road pass for DK, Scandinavian or northern Europe, USD 100-250.00 Depending on how much you want to do.

Youth Hostells (with your own sleeping bag, if you want sheets and luxury it cost more)in DK cost about USD 20.00. 7 nights is USD 140.00

Breakfast in the hostell (and eat all U can) USD 5.00 = USD 35.00, rest of the day one good meal USD 20.00 = USD 140.00.

In big cities get a map (internet), check where you want to go and buy a one day pass tourist buss ticket, normaly you can jump from buss to buss or get out and in when you want to. Where not available use local busses.

To reduce cost always look for Danish blue eyed beauties with sleeping opportunities.

Traveling around always keep money, passport and return ticket safe, and always with you.

That way you should be able to do it for some USD 1,000.00- 1.500,00

When you get to my age you will need a good hotel, a good bar and 1 class transportation, and thats what cost.

Travel now, you are young. Later on its to late

Just do it, and enjoy the ride, alone and free of anoying distractions from parrents and girlfriends, and make it a sport to keep down the costs, and try to brush up your langauges a little, learn a little Danish and if going farther south, some German, people appriciate when you can say some frases in their native langauge

You can get a lot of help from the Danes on the forum, Danes are normaly very guest freindly and like to get to know new "strange" people.

I agree Soren, that trip would be great for just myself. I was in Europe ~6 months ago and remember a little tiny bit of German. I did notice how everyone was very hospitable and helpful. I always tried to speak German to them but they preferred to practice their English with me!!

I'm sorry Leslie! It was a very tight itinerary set by my uncle. I was very close - touched down in Munich.

I'll see you in Denmark next summer! :D

Thanks Stefan for remembering and posting that!  What a fantastic time we had, didn't we. I just wish I could afford to make a return trip. Never mind, maybe the next time.
