LC2 appears to be toast - recommendations for 3rd party equivalents ?

After failure of 1 of my two LC2's (dead even after changing the  fuse) I'm on the lookout for a 3rd party equivalent. I don't want to have to program it by computer - I'm aiming for the simplicity of the Lc2, wire it in and the B&O remote switches it on & off. Thats all !

Previous searches seem to have recommended Lutron /Lintronic / JBMedia. Can I ask for current thoughts on these as Lc2 alternatives - specifically bearing in mind I just want to wire it into single lamps (no in wall / big box config).

    Any advice appreciated !!

Good question. I have found this bosscom unit to be quite close to original in form and function. Maybe someone has better / different suggestions?

Why the apparent reluctance to publish any prices? Bizarre!

You can buy them on Ebay - pricy!

What is the experience in using these when 1. Using a plasma TV in the vicinity and 2. How directional are they - do you have to point the remote in their direction to get them to work?

Another option is to repair the broken LC2's. In most cases the problem is caused by 2 capacitors, it's an easy fix!

Yes - please tell of the fix. If it's a visit to the local electrical repair shop for standard parts to be changed then I'll give it a go. Cheers

I think this is the trade/retailer site - they don't want to publish prices so that you and I don't see what they actually sell them to the retailers for. Mind you, perhaps we could all club together and become a reseller ourselves (!)

I tried a product called Innovus RAOne Smartdimmer. It works just like a LC2, responding to Beolink 1000, Beo4 etc. Only thing is it emits a soft, high-pitched whine when on. Only available in 240V.

There is a 220uf and 22uf capacitor although I cannot remember what the voltage ratings are - they are on the lower PCB part of the 5v supply.

Repalcements should be 105 degree low esr and a good make. Worth a shot for what they cost!
