    Beomaster 8000 problem

A Beomaster 8000 I received yesterday has a problem. Standby light comes on. I select a source but it doesn't always come on. When it does it sounds amazing!! All channels work and all functions EXCEPT the display and keypad end up freezing. The Bm will keep on playing flawlessly but the keypad functions no longer work and the display keeps changing on its on, kind of like a disco! lol! (Not funny actually!!) So apart from the freezing of the keypad and wierd display the beomaster works beautifully. It officially is the best B&O I have heard to date!!

    Can anyone offer any advice?

    Thanks

    Hey Jaff

Thanks for the link. What type of wire did you use?

    Thanks

I don't recall exactly -it was simply some spare wire I had on hand.

It was solid core copper in the ~22ga-24ga range, not too dissimilar to a CAT5 single strand.

It worked, but I will defer to the resident electrical experts as to what should be used officially! Wink

P.S. Here's to hoping the experts don't make me go rip it all apart! Laughing

First check the connections on the processor and display boards, the interconnecting plugs, connectors,
the plugs surface coating and their respective solder joints.

If you need to rewire something, the choice of wire will not be very critical.
Good soldering skills and ESD handling more so.
