    Broken Beomaster 8000 Lid

Just received my Beolab 8000 today. Sadly I tried new transporters which was a bad idea!!

The lid on the Beomaster has broken off. From what I can see its the plastic bit the slids onto the alumium lid that has broken and is in pieces. The hinge itself is fine and works. There are bits left in the groove of the beomaster lid but not enough to stay on. I'm not sure how it actually works or stays on. If anyone has any ideas or maybe even some of the plastic bits that fit into the groove I would appreciate it. Otherwise the system is mint.

    Thanks

    Ben

    Re: Broken Beomaster 8000 Lid

The alu lid has a machined groove at the underside and slides in from the side onto the hinge piece and
locks into place with two flat plastic keys that also fits in the groove.
Most machines have a tiny pressing to the alu to fix the keys in place, which makes it a bit
    difficult to take apart.
Sounds like you will need to replace either the hinge piece, the hinge piece together with the lid (easier)
or the whole assembly with the programming section top as a whole (easiest).

I'm thinking the hinge with the lid? I'm sure that would be the easiest and most economical as I most certainately won't find a replacement in my country.

You wouldn't have one lying around per chance would you Dillen? Whistle

    I'm afraid, I don't.
Are you sure, it can't be repaired ?
Can you post a photo of the damaged part ?

    Re: Broken Beomaster 8000 Lid

I'll have a look over the weekend Martin to see if I can repair it. You've given me a description on how it works. If I don't come right I'll take a picture and post it.

    Thanks
