    + en - on Beolab 5000

I have disconnected the plus en minus wires from my Beolab 5000.

Now I'm not sure which is + and - to reconnect.

Anybody? One of the two wires has a striped mark (left wire).

On my (well, potentially mine, since I'm still in the middle of purchasing them) Beolab 4500, the wire with the raised stripe is positive and the negative has black printing on it (NKT).

Thanks Eric, any one else who can confirm, just to make sure?

Btw Eric, what does NKT means?

I would agree with Eric. I checked photos of my Beolab 3000s and it looks to go that way (judging by the position and orientation of the cable, the only photo I got of the rear panel is with the wires disconnected).

Stripe is positive+ on all the ones I have ever had.

See Page 11 of Beolab 4500/5000 user manual for confirmation.

NKT is the name of the manufacturer: "Nordisk Kabel og Tråd" -an old danish company.

As Steffen said, it's just the wire manufacturer.

BTW, my 3 Penta amps are not wired the same. The raised stripe is negative and the NKT lettering on the positive is orange colored. Perhaps B&O used the color printing as their guide instead of the raised stripe.
