For the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the lid of my Beocord 3500. The instructions for the service technicians underneath look like the hinges need to be pushed in to come off but i don't want to be too heavy handed. I've got the touch panel off but don't want to break the lid trying. The lid is raised but can't see any areas to lift it off its hinges? Anyone done this before? Thanks in advance all.

You need to carefully lift out the uppermost lips of the hinge plastic parts out from
their grooves, away from the metal lid (towards you), just two millimeters or so and
lift the lid straight upwards at the same time.
An ultra-thin watchmakers screwdriver is good for this.
