    Beovision 4 Non HD

Beovision 4 Non HD conversion to HD for SKY HD+

    You Need

All of the following is available on ebay.

1 x Panasonic TY-42TM6AB Plasma Video Terminal Board

1x HDMI to Component YPbPr Converter

    1 x Panasonic EUR646529 Plasma Remote Control

    1 x Component lead

    1 x HDMI Lead

Unplug system components (screen, sky box etc.)

Install Component Plasma Board into Slot 2 on your screen

Connect Component lead to converter and Plasma.

Connect HDMI from your sky box etc to the converter.

    Switch on your system.

Select Sky in the usual way using Beo 4, (remember to leave your scart connected for sound)

Go into picture settings on the Sky HD Box and set the HD resolution to 1080i.

    Select Sky HD Channel.

Now hold the Panasonic remote under the bottom left hand corner of the screen and press the input button.

HD Should be displayed, (might be dark at first)

Remember to adjust your picture (Brightness etc) using the picture button on the Panasonic remote (may take 10 min but worth it).

It’s a bit of a faf, but It beats paying for a new plasma.

I have done it with great success.

    Re: Beovision 4 Non HD

    This isn't complete at all.

Check your software from your system. Update it to at least 15.2. (not possible with system2 mk1)

Assign in the servicemenu under "plasmaversion setup" the slot 2 to decoder or AV as Y/Pb/Pr (2 different settings to make)

Then choose at the setup under AV or Decoder for STB(DTV)-Y/Pb/Pr or STB(Vaux)-Y/Pb/Pr.

This way, when choosing DTV or Vaux, the system 2 switches the panel to use slot 2 as videosource.

More options possible but for now something to experiment.
