There is a combination of keys to force a refresh without caches. I think it is CTRL on the keyboard and click on Refresh at the same time.

There is a Beoworld app available. Works wonderfully.

Talking about the Beoworld app... It will certainly be impacted by the change of server software and/or the change of look. I'll take me a couple of weeks to produce a new version compatible with the new forum.

Wonderful job Lee! Can't wait to see how the forum re-do turns out.

I've always thought BeoWorld looked modern and up to date, but you are leaping ahead!

    Yes - thumbs up

    Keith;

On Win 7 - 64 bit here, and it is very good. Same on the Ipad 2

The home page has a nice clean, silver-blue metallic look.

    A splendid job !

    Great new design.

I'm using Win7-32 Firefox 4. After relaoading the page displays correctly. Lifestyle ad is missing, being blocked by adblock.

    On iPAD1 i cannot write a post.

Nice to see a change sometimes, it's usually good for our brains!

And you sometimes notice things you didn't see before, and guess what: I couldn't find any link to the official B&O website on BeoWorld!Surprise

Is it gone with the new facelift, or was it never there?

    Reunion Island is greeting you!

    Re: Announcing the new 'Look'

Well done, it looks great on my Macbook Pro.

Also good to see that your advertisers are much clearer, because the purpose of my visit today was to check out lifestyle AV.

    Thanks

This is expected (as well as not being able to post on an iPhone), as the only thing that has changed as of now is the main web site at www.beoworld.org. This forum is still currently on the same old platform it has been for ages.

The problem is that the mobile version of WebKit framework, which is what iOS browsers have been built on, does not support the contentEditable property of HTML5. This affects most embedded "wysiwyg" editors on web pages - the Beoworld forum is far from the only place where you will find this problem.

The only party able to fix this will be Apple, so your best bet is to use the Beoworld app by Philippe. You might also try switching to "plain text" content editor in your site options, although that will be another kind of pain on a real computer.

    Re: Announcing the new 'Look'

The new webpage looks very nice though I am disappointed with the product section and its photos. The product miniatures should not be resized in a strange manner (look at: http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=1275) and they should be clickable in order to see them full-sized.

    Hi Lee

The general consensus (to which I concur) seems to be very positive which much give you and the team a great sense of satisfaction - Well done!

Does the increase in server capacity mean we'll be able to have a gallery instead of having to keep referring to "Flash your B&O" ?

    Cheers

    Nigel,

We have always had a media area, see the MEDIA button in the MENU above and I could setup an area in the Media area called "Flash your B&O" in just a few seconds if it were used.

Images are NOT stored in the SQL database, so actually we have lots of room for images, our limitation and cost on THIS FORUM is the SQL database and its associated cost.

The Wednesday Forum has been running on the Beoworld dedicated server since the beginning of the year and does not have such limitations or incremental costs.

If enough members would like this rather than the thread which will become slower the longer the thread gets, then I will add it.

    Regards Keith....

Well I'll be blowed.....never clicked on the media or blog buttons before!!!!!!!

Shall spend the next few hours having a browse... initial impressions are that it (the media section) needs more catorgaristaion (if thats a proper word), maybe by product...I'll come back with a more informed view!

    Cheers

    Nigel

    Hi Keith,

I would vote for a gallery as well.

From my point of view something with sorting / filtering options like most viewed, most rated, highest score, newest addition would be perfect.

    Just my 2 cents

In the MEDIA section (Press MEDIA button in the MENU above) there is now a new title called "FLASH YOUR B&O"

All registered members of ALL levels have permissions to upload pictures into this section.

Currently there is only ONE sub-section called "Members Pictures" but additional sections can be added perhaps by "Product Groups" or similar. Let me know everyones general view on what section by name should be added to "FLASH YOUR B&O"

    Regards Keith....
