    Announcing the new 'Look'

You won't have noticed but we've been busy over the last months designing a new 'Look and Feel' for BeoWorld..

Our first 'stop' was the main site, which we have launched this afternoon (have a look here) with a cleaner, fresher and brighter look.  You may well be aware that we're constantly looking to improve BeoWorld in any way we can, with this just being one of those things.

We've also been running a the very latest version of the Telligent Forum package for a few months now - and we're confident enough in its functionality to roll it out for the time being later this week in the 'old clothes' of the existing forum.  Once we're all happy with it, Van and Keith will collaborate to give it the same new look as the main site.

Most importantly, once we've totally rolled out everything - we'll be on our own dedicated server.  Server space will no longer be an issue and neither will bandwidth.  So, with this in mind we should get almost zero forum crashes and some decent speed when posting and downloading.  We've come a long way since the 'old days' of the forums crashing on an almost daily basis and I think this may be as near to perfection as we'll get now.

So.. your initial feedback on the 'new look' please?  I don't expect everyone to like it as some people simply don't like change - but the moderating team and myself feel it's a step forward.  The new forum and new servers will follow imminently, but this is simply about the new look for the moment.

    Kindest Regards

    Lee

    Smile

    You have my vote too.

Could you please make the forums compatible with the iPhone? Posting is virtually impossible, you can't type anything but titles...

    Hi,

I like it a lot, even if it is currently not working smoothly.

Maybe its only the Firefox/ Windows XP combo which I am running right now.

Please expand on your statement about "not working smoothly"

What is not working correctly ?

I'm on Windows 7 and it is a total mess!!

I just have a list of command lines just like they have been typed on Word.

The only thing about right is the LifeStyle add at the top.

    Regards Graham

It could be a problem of cache. Try and press Alt and click the Refresh button at the same time.

I suggest you press the "Refresh Button" on your browser, it maybe that you went to the site while I was changing it over and only some of the data is in your Browser cache.

Looks great - nice and quick.

Loading of the front page always made this site look cheap to me, but now it is excellent

    Thank you

The forum will be updated first with the latest software version which has been running on test used by the moderators since February, then the "Look & Feel" will be changed to match the Beoworld Web Site

    Hi Kieth,

Please find attached a pdf I printed from beoworld.org, even a refresh did not change anything.

I hope it helps at least a little bit.

    Re: Announcing the new 'Look'

I looked at your PDF file and it shows me that whilst you say you did a refresh, I can see that you are seeing the web site during the changeover meaning you are viewing your local cache/proxy server and not the site.

Please try a "Refresh Again" after you have closed and re-opened your browser.

    Regards Keith....
