Beocord V8000 technical/sub menu to work with beolink 1000

    Hello everyone,

I have connected a beocord 8000 to a MX 4002 with a beolink 1000 and need to reconfigure the settings in order to make full use of beolink 1000. At present I can only skip tracks with the << and >> keys, not rewind or forward while playing.

Is there a code to be used to enter this sub-menu. If you know a way I'd be grateful to know it please.

    Cheers Smile

I don't think this is a configuration problem. Basic controls, like wind and rewind, shouldn't be dependent on menus. However, skipping tracks on a B&O video recorder should be with the [Δ] and [∇] keys, not the [>>] and [<<] keys as you indicated. Weird indeed.

Stupid question (perhaps): it couldn't be that you are trying to control your V8000 with an early Beolink 1000, and are pressing the [>] and [<] keys, instead of the [>>] and [<<] ones?

Another thought is that pressing the proper [>>] and [<<] keys while playing would probably result in "cue forward" or "cue backward" (with picture) rather than winding or rewinding. You'd have to press [STOP] first before issuing fast wind and rewind commands. At least this is how it works with the VX7000, which is what I have.

You can switch between Beo4 and Beolink 1000 in the compatibility section of the service menu.

Thanks Peter but how do I go to the service menu? Should I contact a B&O dealer?

If you upgrade your membership to Beoworld you can gain access to the service manuals.

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

    enter the v8000 menu

    select "SETUP" and press [PLAY]

you are now in the "SETUP" menu

    now press [0] [0] [PLAY]

you are now in the "SERVICE" menu

select "COMPATIBILITY SETUP" and press [PLAY]

you are now in the "COMPATIBILITY SETUP" menu

change the "REMOTE CONTROL" setting from "BEO4" into "BL1000"

You can also change the menu colour into "GREY" or "BLACK" depending on which colour your Beovision menu colour is.

press [PLAY] to confirm the settings or [STOP] if don't want to change the settings.

Put the v8000 in stand-by and disconnect the V8000 from the mains and reconnect the v8000 again.

I have not scanned that one (very large!!) Was looking for the manual when our colleague kindly gave the answer! Can't get my V8000 to work well as it is attached to the 3rd input on my BV5 and has to be called V.Aux. The menu system doesn't work! Big Smile Only used it once in the last year!
