    Black Beomaster 4400 cabinet anyone?

    Hello,

Could anybody here please confirm that this black/ebony (?) Beomaster 4400 was ever produced at all?

    Not the fascia, the woodwork!

    Thank you!

    Jacques

    Thanks Martin.

So the 4400 I'm looking at must have been sprayed at some point during its - possibly early - life then!

The seller tells me he has always seen it like this...

    Hi dear B&O vintage fans,

It has existed a black (rather dark grey) Beomaster 1400 like this one in my collection, but a 4400, never seen one.
If you have a photo, please show us, very interesting! Cool

Yes, as Marc shows, the Beomaster 1400 (and Beocord 1500 cassettedeck) was available in the grey
Nextel finish, which is a rubber-like surface consisting of thousands of small rubber balls blasted onto a
    pre-glued surface.
It gives a matt, grey surface that scratches easily and is a pain to clean.

Piano black finished were introduced years later but never on any Beomaster.

    Salut Marc,

Ton Beomaster est superbe ! Je veux le même ! Dis, tu me le donnes...Embarrassed

It is visible (scratches) that it was indeed sprayed by somebody, but not B&O then!

That'll be the wood grain pattern shining through, so it wasn't filled and flattened before painting.

Yes indeed Jacques the original veneer has been directly sprayed, that B&O never do.

It 's my baby and I couldn't even imagine to give it or sell it, if you are collector you can understand me...
But if I can see one somewhere, I won't miss to send you the link. Wink
