    Dreambox with Beovision 10

    Hi,

    Sinds a year i have a Beovision 10-40 wich i realy love

Now i want control my new Dreambox 800HDse (DVB-C) with the Beo4.

I have the latstest version of the BV10 software and 3 versions of the DM PUC codes.

Now my problem, the BEO4 is REALY slow ans loses lots of command to control the Dreambox.

I have tried 2 cables, differend PUC version, all 4 PUC ports, different locations of the IR sender.

What can i do to make it work?

    thanx

    Re: Dreambox with Beovision 10

Did you check the position of the ir reciever with a digital camera or mobile phone camera? This way you should see the exact position.

    Best regards

If you are using the PUC DM800 Vers. 2.00 set your BV10 to navigation button YES and use a Beo4 navi - 1710.

Does your DB work properly with the original remote?

    Hi,

I have a 'old' Beo4 without navigation buttons.

right now i'm using the DM7000 PUC set.

Will check tonight de position, but i have placed them om several places, even 10 cm away from the box all with the same responds: slow and losing commands.

in about 2 weeks i will receive my new BeoVison 8-40 (new version) so i can also test it on this TV.

DM7000 codes should be the same as for the DM800. Does your DB work with the original remote?

Check your IR transmitter with a digital camera. When you press a button on your Beo4, you should see the transmitter flashing through the camera.

I have a DM800 SE connected to my BV7-40 controlled by a Lintronic box and it`s working great. But right now there is a sw problem with all E2 Dreamboxes - 8000, 800, 800SE, 500 see: http://www.dream-multimedia-tv.de/board/index.php

    Hi,

The PUC signals every key i press on my Beo4. It is perfect to see on my mobile camera!

So i replaced the transmitter on the DM800 and its looks like it is working better now. The placement is very delicate..

Why do you use a lintronic instead of the PUC?

    Thanx

I have the DM 800HD and the 8000HD.

Your problem is the ir-transmitter which sends a (to) strong signal to the receiver.

Take a bit of thin white paper. Place it between the sensor and the ir transmitter.

This makes the ir signal weaker, but the response far better.

    Hi,

Thanx! that works a lot better.

But it still misses some keys like the '0' and '1' in the teletexs, the 'Menu-3' for the main menu etc.

also with scrolling it misses soms ups and downs...

    Keep experimenting.

Make sure you dont have a leak.

BTW beware of the driverproblem since 1 may. update you receiver with the latest software (after 1 may)

I'm using Pli. Backup your settings and update the software and afterwards reïnstal your settings.

I just got my Dreambox a few weeks ago, and the PUC list of my BV7 is not yet updated with Dreambox codes. I`m still waiting (again!) for an update of the BV7 software - because of a DVB HD modul issue. The Lintronic box is connected to the Scart plug of the BV7, so it is working just the same way as the PUC.

Have you set your BV10 to NO NAVIGATION BUTTON ?

Did you also try GO - 3 instead of MENU - 3 ?

For the sw problem of E2 boxes you just need to install the ipk file for your 800SE from DMM site and restart the Dreambox.

    Hi,

i will test as soon i got home. The software i use for the dreambox is from 15 april 2011 (openPli 2.0) so i don't have that problem.

Interesting, i did not know you can control the Lintronic box from a Scart connection. Is that also possible for HDMI devices (like my DM and my Mac Mini)? My setup is hidden so i don't have the space for a IR receiver.

The problem lies in a signature in the DM driver of the E2 box. After several times zapping, the box stalks.

Most boxes will freeze from the 1st May on. It has nothing to do with your date of  image.

BTW the DM ipk package causes a lot (here in Holland) of freezes. Most likely the box will not boot. A clean install is then the only way to go.

Most boxes which freezes are the DM8000, followed by the 800(SE).

Make sure that you make a backup from your settings via  software, Restore these after a clean installation takes 10-15 minutes at the most.

    Hi,

I have upgrades my Box without a problem and it does not crash anymore. I'm in Holland also.

About the IR transmitter, i have places several pieces of paper and now it is working much better. not 100%, it is still misses 1 of the 15 keys, most noticeable in Teletekst when entering a number. Up and Down almost go's ok.

and the GO - 1 (teletekst) and Go - 3 (DM Menu) responds much faster than Menu - 1 and Menu - 3

    Thanx for all the help!

Yes. Scart control is also possible with HDMI devices. I just connected my DM800SE via HDMI and Scart - Scart for controlling the DB and for watching DB on link TVs - mainroom picture is HDMI.

It is strange that you have such problems with controlling your DB. I had (and have) several boxes, DVD- BD players, mediaplayer (Tvix) connected and controlled via the PUC and everything works fine....(?)

Same experience here. Had lots of boxes in the past till present, but the DM800 is at this moment the first and only device which doesn t work perfect with the ir-lead.

Yes, i have also more then 1 device connected (Mac Book Pro with Plex and a Samsung DVB-C on a other room) without a problem.

the DM gives me problems.. even with the pice of paper..

If you're almost getting there, you or some other "techy" guy, need to to fine-tune the damping factor of the IR-light.

Instead of putting a piece of paper, I would cut one of the two wires of the cable and put a resistor in the ir-cable. I guess you need to experiment with different values of the resistor, to get a stable workung PUC.

To get the right value, I would start with a potmeter, 0 - 10Kohms. Get it fine-tuned till it's stable, and measure the resistance of the potmeter.

Replace the potmeter with a resistor of that value.

    Re: Dreambox with Beovision 10

The funny thing is my DB 800SE is working great with my Lintronic box. I just taped the IR transmitter to the front of my DB, imported the Dreambox codes from Lintronics database and configured a mapping. No experimenting with IR location, no white paper, no resistor.....

Maybe I should leave it as it is...?">
