    Beocenter 9500 door issue

First off let me explain something.  i have a beocenter 9000 and a beocenter 9500.  The 9000 has a non functioning CD player and the 9500 has a non functioning tape player and non-functioning doors.  I would like to possibly use some parts out of the 9000 to repair the 9500 because i really would like to have another unit with native powerlink connections.

Here is what I have tested thus far:

Removed the 9500's door motors and connected them to the 9000 they work fine.

Removed the 9500's "keyboard" ("buttons" to open doors) and connected it to the 9000 and it functions just fine.

Now I am stumped.  I do want to get the 9500 working... and I do not care what happens to the 9000 hence the parting-out process.  The glass for the 9000 and the frames have already been reclaimed (ie. put away just in case something happens to my other fully functional 9000).  I would like to solve this without the help of Pyramid Audio in Austin or Grammaphone in Denver.

Do you hear a relay click when you try to open the doors?

Check fuse F2 (T1A) on PCB60 (rear PCB, coordinate F1). This might be broken.

What voltage do you get on the fuse when the BeoCenter is switched on?

On which PCB are you measuring actually? There are two F2's in BeoCenter 9500, one on the PCB which is behind the transformer and one which is on the PCB which is mounted on the heatsink. Which one have you checked?

the one on the heatsink.  I can check the other...

It is the one on the heatsink, so you have the right one! .3 volt is much too low, it should be around 23 volt. Check F3 on the PCB behind the transformer, otherwise the problem is almost certainly in PCB62 (regulator PCB behind the CD-player). It could be the relay on this PCB.

    Re: Beocenter 9500 door issue

ok re-checked the fuse on the heathsink..  when idle = .3V when active = 28v.  I also swapped out PCB 62 from the 9500 with the one from the 9000 and still no movement on the 9500, yet the board works just fine in the 9000.   Also the board from the 9500 works just fine (doors open etc) in the 9000.

so I am still scratching my head on this one.

I just got a Beocenter 9500 today with the same trouble with both doors will not open.

I brought it to Dillen so if he does not post here I will do so when has had a look on it.

Board 45 (upper middle display board), have you checked that there is a 15V supply across supply pins 2 and 4 of IC 2 or 3?

    Olly.

DVdude did you check board 45 as above? Make sure you measure across the IC pins if you usually ground the negative to take measurements. Make sure machine is on or press load [cd/tape] while measureing too!

Also I think the manual states 14v not 15 sorry.

    Olly.

Did you ever get round to checking board 45?

    Olly.
