    Re: Beogram CD 4500

    Chris, usefull information, thanks!

Graham, wasn't this Barrie911 the guy who wanted to have the touch glasspanel made for the Beomaster 4500 (incl. text)?

Egoh, Can I ask how much you paid for the metal sheets. I paid 12 euro's for the Beovox 5000 panel (not bended)!

I don't have the price since I had these 2, plus Beomaster 4500, Beocord CD4500, and a few of furniture projects made at the same time. I didn't get a price breakdown. A lot for than 12 euros though. :)

Egoh, have you seen using these mirror panels on the labs of my Penta's?

Leslie, Those panels look great. I don't like the gray plastic either. I've been debating what to do: fabricate matching stainless or paint black. I didn't think to do mirrors. Lots to think about, but much to fix first.

    Well done so far.

Almost makes me want to get off my passive kick and jump onto the active bandwagon.

    Current primary listening:  SMMC20EN -> BG4002 -> BM4000 -> Beovox M70

Did a pair of Penta labs in glossy black. Looks great with matching black cloths which I bought from an US Ebay seller. Perfect!

Wish you lots of joy refurbishing these Penta's. Keep us informed about the progress...

I'd love to see how the glossy black turned out as well!

    Hi Ollie,

Sold the black Penta's to a dear friend of mine somewhere in GreeceSmile

But here are some pictures incl. the packing (sorry, bit off topic).

The front panel is still (dull) grey which I have painted black later.

I even changed the colors of the displaysCool

    Leslie:

Btw, the Bang & Olufsen text on the Beovox flatpanels is originally not engraved.

To much cleaning and you wipe it offWhistle
This what I used and it (almost) looks the same as the original!

Ahem...You're right -I actually never gave it a closer look. I just ran my fingers over the letters and felt a slight difference in level. The colors of the original letters are so close to the steel-surface that I thought it was engraved or etched in the surface. But now I can see that it is ON the surface...Embarrassed

Steffen, thought myself that these were engraved but then I got a pair where some of the characters were slightly dissapeared. Was a bit of dissapointed B&O using sticky letters instead of engraving...
