    BV7-40 MkII and AppleTV

Sorry if this has been adressed before. Did some searching into old posts without success...

Is it possible to connect an AppleTV (either 1G or 2G) to an MkII BV7-40 and control it via PUC ?

Side question (well, sort of...): is it wise today to buy a second-hand MkII BV7 ? Main usage would be watching tv/vod through adsl set top box and (audio)master in a link setup

    Thanks all for your comments

    Christophe

ATV G2 uses HDMI connections, and yes it can be controlled via a PUC (as Apple Remote)

The real question for you, is how many HDMI devices do you want to support, and how many HDMI connections does a BV7-40 Mk II have

    That is your real constraint

If not enough HDMIs you need to look at the ATV G1 (in my opinion)

First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

As far as I know, MkII has no HDMI, and I was wondering whether there was any Apple-Remote PUC update at all for MkII

I see no reason why the PUC list could not be updated to include an Apple Remote ... I would give your nearest dealer a call

I have tried to find ATV 1st generation details - these used to be in Wikipedia, but whomever did the update for 2G has dropped all the details of the video out of the first generation -- I can not remember if it was composite or component

If no HDMI then definitely a DVI input. i think

Use hdmi-dvi adapter and then update puc list to accomodate AT2

And you need an optical to coax digital audio converter. Or you use a DAC.

    BeoVision 8-40 / BeoVision 8-32 / Beovision 6-26 / BeoSound 3200 / BeoSound 1 / BeoLab 3 /  Beolab 6000 / Beolab 2000 / Beoport / Beomedia 1 / 3* Beo4 /BeoCom 5 with VOIP

I have a BV7-40 MKII with 1st gen. Apple TV connected through DVI and use a BEO5 with no problems at all. BEO4 won't allow fast scrolling.
