Anyone have experience form Atlona AT-HD41D 4x1 HDMI1.3

My dealer says B&O recommend "Atlona AT-HD41D 4x1 HDMI1.3" for expanding the number of HDMI sockets on my BV10-40.

I have the version with only 2 HDMI.

Do I need to load PUC codes for the Atlona, or is that somehow "built in"?

Anyone have experience if its a convenient solution? I don´t want it to take time to switch between sources.

    /Claes

Installed one last week. Fairly straight forward. The Atlona has to be added to the PUC table and an STBc emitter stuck to the front of the Atlona.

In the set up menu of the TV you select YES to HDMI expander. You can then assign the peripheral products to the HDMI sockets on the expander. The TV sees them as HDMI B1, B2, B3 & B4.

You still control the peripheral products via the PUC in the TV. The BeoVision10 has 4 PUC sockets but one goes to the Atlona expander so you have three PUC sockets available. You connect the Expander to HDMI B on the TV. This means that HDMI A on the TV is still available so you can connect up to this but you can only control a total of three peripheral products.

Once installed it just worked as a normal PUC product would.

Thanks Opman! Sounds straight forward. Does it add any delay to the switching of sources?

    Hiort:

    No delay of note.

Given that you only have two HDMI sockets and want to add extra sources the options are to add the Atlona or trade in your set for the new version of the BeoVision10 with three HDMI sockets.

    Thanks,

I think I will loose more on a trade in, than I would spend on the Atlona. Amazon is selling at a better price than my dealer here in Sweden.

I guess this is what Gefen sell now: GTV-HDMI1.3-441N. I don´t know why B&O recommend the Atlona now.

The Gefen is also expensive here in Sweden (more than 250 euro). Are you able to sell one to me, from UK, Louis?

Re: Anyone have experience form Atlona AT-HD41D 4x1 HDMI1.3

Does anybody knows what is the best switch to choose?

I need a 4x2 switch (the second HDMI output for a videoprojector), and was about to get a Gefen as soon as my BV8 40 is upgraded to the latest firmware (I still don't have an "extender-compatible" software as my dealer is "selling" updates at a really high price), and asked Beocare about the recommended Gefen switches...

    I got this answer :
"We must say that we do not recommend the use of Gefen HDMI switch, but in stead recommend that you use Atlona Expander AT-HD4-V41"
(note that they recommend a 4x1 switch when I ask for a 4x2, but anyway...)

Somebody can tell experiences with Gefen or Atlona, in order to understand what is the better choice?

    Thanks!
