    Beo4 cinema

Got a problem with a Beo 4 Cinema remote , the back light won’t switch off , should only stop on for a few seconds after picking it up or pressing a key , so now the batteries only last a few hours . It always has eaten batteries when working as it should unlike the standard Beo4 that lasts for years . The service department of B&o say parts are not available so if it’s not a standard component the only way I can think of it is to disconnect the backlight .

Did get offered another one but had some dead pixels , but again couldn’t  be repaired as screens are unavailable and the standard Beo4 screen wont’ work .

I agree with Seanie_230 and wish they would still either offer the Beo4 Cinema or at least a backlight version of the Beo4.  Would definitely purchase one in a heart beat.

    Re: Beo4 cinema

I sent this about ten mins ago. Why dont you all send one also, afterall the customer is always right. Hi there Myself and many others that use the beoworld forum to discuss this brand we love would love for you to re-create the beo4 cinema or a backlit beo4 as not all of us want or like the beo5 or beo6. Can you please look into bringing the beo4cinema or a backlit beo4 into production im sure if you did a survey plenty of people would be interested in buying one. Thanks for reading

    Re: Beo4 cinema

I cannot see the point really. The Beo6 is a far more powerful remote with proper back lighting and is much more the future of B&O, with the ability to support wireless and two way communication and with a rechargeable battery. And all of this for not much more than the Beo4 cinema. The Beo4 cinema was clearly a stop gap model made to keep the home cinema early adopters happy whilst the Beo5 was developed. The fact it eats batteries, is not very well constructed and has little flexibility would i my view confirm that we will not see it again. I am afraid I see this about as likely to succeed as a call for a new Beogram.

    Re: Beo4 cinema

And yet they released the new Type 1710 Beo4 remote not long ago.

It seems they intend to keep the Beo4 style/model around for those users that for whatever reason are opposed to the Beo5/6.  So why not implement it with backlit display and illuminated keys for those of us that pefer the original Beo4 style!

If it is an issue of having to sit on a charger to keep it charged like the Beo6 in order for us to have the functionality of a backlit display and illuminated keys they so be it I say, give it a rechargerable battery and create a cradle for us to sit it in when not in use.
