    What Happens If

I feed the output from a beomaster 5000 receiver to BS1 as say a SAT input. I would like to know how BS1 will treat a amp output from Beomaster when compared to pre-amp.

Will I be able to power up a pair of passive speakers directly connected to BS1 if the original signal was amped.

    Thanks

Common sense says I will ruin my BS1 if i feed a amped signal...

Quite likely. Don't try that, the idea has no chance of working.

Yes, I agree. Don,t try it, as it won't work. What do you want to do? As I cannot see the advantage of been able to run the passives from the BS1. Obviously you can connect them to the BM5000. If you could connect them they way you described. Surely that would only allow the passives to play whatever the BM5000 is playing.

Surely the obvious way would be headphone jack from BS1 to line in on the amp? Same end result (ish?)

Well i was tring to put the bm5000 to use. Not the right way to do it.

Based on several of your other threads and having a general feel what you have from responding to them -as well as your siggy...

The BS1 setup you have trying to run some passives -I seem to recall your having a single BL4000 as center, RL6000 as fronts and S45-2 as rears running on MCL2P's w/ a non B&o panel.

    Trying to incorporate a BM5000.

Here is what I would do in your shoes...

A.) BM5000: Use it just as an independent audio source. It is a great amp, arguably the best of the stacks. You have a great set of speakers in the S45-2

1.) Get an MCP5000 and/or a T5000, connect the S45 and do nothing else except perhaps pick up a CD50.

    2.) Enjoy.

B.) BS1: If you are not intending to buy a BV4 -sell it.

1.) If you don't want a BS3 -buy the Onkyo or similar from the other thread.

2.) Buy a pair of (center) matching BL4000 for the fronts.

3.) Leave the rear MCL2P in place and connect either of the remaining RL's or even the CX50.

    4.) Enjoy.

No wonder I was confused - I thought we were talking about a Beosound 1!!!
