    System Dock - I-Port

    Hi

I have the system dock connected to my BV 7-40 but I can only use the remote with it when I include the apple remote into my Beo 5. The IR connection witha cable betwen the twodoes not work.

Apart from that does anybody know how I incorporate the Systrem Dock into the Beo 5. I cannot find it there. I bought it for my BV10 to arrive in March and I got told that I chosse it from an STB list when I incoporate it into my system and then it would work with the iR cable connection. Still I am not clear how to program this with the Beo 5? Maybe somone has the System Dock incorporated in his system using the Beo 5 and the dock connected with IR cable to make full use of the thing and can help?

    Best regards Oliver

Assuming you are using an European version of 7-40 Mk4 or 5.

    I'm using the FS-23 connected to a BV 10-46-EU and I installed a FS-23 on a BV 7-40Mk5-EU of friends
    (both systems with new Beo4s)

    setup of TV:

    - used AV3 and set it to "V.AUX2" or "PC"
    - set AV 3 to YPbPr to YES
    - *) installed a 3.5mm mono jack <> 3,5mm mono jack cable from FS 23 to TV
(aesthetics - to avoid visible cables on the front of the dock)
    - *) choosed "CABLE" in the IR submenu
    - on the 7-40 I used a SCART to 3x Cinch/RCA "camera adapter" to connect the sound cable

*) if you want to use an IR-blaster cable set "IR" in  the IR submenu.

    check on your TV:

    - PUC list already updated via service tool?
    - iPort FS-23 appears in your TV in the list of selectable Set-Top-Boxes?

    Beo5:

    - Beo5 programming will be just the "source name" (in my case it would be "PC" or "V.AUX2") and
"Menu" to open the "Help for Navigation"
    - all the other buttons to navigate " << ; >> ; UP ;  DOWN ; 4 x colours ; back and play/go"
already exist on a Beo5 as "real" buttons.

    Re: System Dock - I-Port

Yes, I am in Germany and ue a 7-40 MK 1 for test pupose only as I am waiting for my BV10 which I bought it for. The FS-23 therefore cannot be in any STB listing in my old 7-40 (what it a Puklist). I really want to use the IR cable connection because the IR eye off the FS-23 will be in a cupboard hidden (as I find it horrible to look at).

So if I understand you right the key is the listing in the STB list. So once  I have my BV10 I can connect the RGB Port and the Audio and the IR cableports between the 2 devices and the FS 23 can be handled without using the 'Apple- Coammands' (which only work direct with the FS-23 IR eye which I definitely do not want) with satndard B+O IR commands direct via th IR cable and NOT the eye onthe FS-23? I am asking because it is very unusual that I do not have to 'program' the Beo5 for it and it is crucial for me.

If it works that way can you access the FS-23 from link rooms?

    Thanks a lot!

    Best regards Oliver

    ...what it a Puklist ...

    PUC = Peripheral Unit Controller:
A more general term for all kind of units a B&O TV is able to control (eg Screens, BD-Players, ...)
including "real" Set-Top-Boxes like SAT/Cable receivers.

    B&O order # 6271086 is a 2,5m controller cable 3,5<>3,5mm for FS-23 , transmitting the commands
directly from TV >> iPort electrically.

    Re: System Dock - I-Port

... it's just one more source connected to the TV, like an external DTV-receiver / BD-Player / ...
and should work in link-roms the same way as your recently connected external sources.

If  AV3 of the recent TV setup has not already been configured to a source/command like
    "PC", "V.AUX", "V.MEM" ; ... reprogramming of Beo5 will be necessary.

I understand how to program my Beo 5 and I do have PC and AUX etc.

Normally one needs to set the software in the beo 5 to particular hardware.

Sorry, your 4.11 seems to be offline and hence not been updated to the latest specs  - ask your dealer !

PS: additionally ?you? / your dealer will still have to update the PUC/STB list of your TV via the service tool ...

The dealer is not of any help. I always did work offline as everybody does here.  A version should be a version. Are there additional updates to it? Are you sure? How can I get those beeing 'offline'?

    Re: System Dock - I-Port

PS: maybe you could send me the XML file which is in the software root under

    Third Parties

    Puc Sources

    10.STB

I do not know whther that file will be enough to get it implementetfor the Beo 5 but maybe worth a try and data is small.

    Would you da that?

    Best regards Oliver

The current version still is 4.11 - that's not the problem.

New items / templates / logos for PUC/STB-Lists are delivered automatically online to logged in users
(B&O registered Dealers / Service Centers / Installers).

As mentioned in one of my previous posts - you have all the "buttons" needed for navigation as "hard keys"
on your Beo 5 - just the source name/command  for the AV input of your choice and "Menue" have to be added
    to the Beo5 config ...

Yes I am clear on tha but I do not have dealer access, would you from your computer from the path as mentioned above copy the xml file? I am not talking about the software itself I am talking about the root where it is installed and the xml is there on your computer.

    Best regards Oliver
