Completely off topic - Bridge Terenez
Hi all
Some longtime ago I mentioned the above new bridge - novel in that its a suspension bridge on a curve, a world first!
This is now nearing opening and rumoured to be the tape cutter Little Sarko!

I now realise, the Tyne bridge is Terenez but just as an infant, several years ago!

It may be bigger and it may be a road bridge but curved bridges are pretty old hat now!

yes, but "ours" moves in a strong wind
First B&O (1976) was a Beogram 1500 ... latest (2011) change has been to couple the BL11 with the BL6Ks *sounds superb*

Of course the Gateshead one actually tips up to let boats through as well! Wonderful device!

Didn't want to ruin French Tony's day completely by telling him ours actually moves too!

Both very cool bridges!
Absolutely magnificent, that faced with a simple problem, to "bridge" a gap, and the solution is not the simplest (straight line), but rather the most spectacular!
Engineering at it's best!

Ha ha Guys, - I'll now crawl back under my stone and sulk!
Did you know / realise Sarko's cabinet have reputedly been chosen for their shortness of stature rather than ability or so rumour has it1!

Peter !!
I am shocked !!!!!
My picture is of the Gateshead bridge :)
I put 'ours' in quotes because of course it is yours but not really mine ... well it was but only for a short time, too short
I still have many found memories of Newcastle ... and the first person who welcome me there off the train from London was Peter

Re: Completely off topic - Bridge Terenez
Bridge opened last weekend - the sharp suit(the little hungarian) didn't turn up to cut the ribbon, must have been sorting plans for Libiya, done by the two mayors of communes either side of the river and the president of the regional council
just for info!
salut
