Beomaster 3000-2 and Philips GA-212 Turntable

    Hello,

I need some technical advise.  I just acquired a nice Beomaster 3000-2.  I have an existing Philips GA 212 turntable that I would like to use with this.  When testing this I barely have any levels (volume at 8 out of 10 before a peep).  Someone told me that these are designed for Bang and Olufsen turntables and that I would need a power amp for the turntable.  Not quite sure what is meant by that.  Should this not work?  Is there something so unique with these receivers that requires a "special" turntable?

    Thanks!

The Beomaster 3000 has two Phono inputs. One has a built-in RIAA preamplifier (the other hasn't).
I suggest you try the other input.

Agree with Dillen. Sounds like you need to be using the Phono 1 input which is for T/T's without built in pre-amp.
