    Beolit 707

I picked up this Beolit 707 a while ago -

It is in fantastic condition overall with a complete aerial etc, but I would like to service it and get it as near to 'new' condition as possible.

Any tips? I also need a better speaker as the original has been replaced with one that doesn't match up to the original mountings.

Also, the bottom plate (with the writing on) is missing, so I wondered how I could go about sourcing a replacement? Anyone got the dimensions or a template I could have a copy of?

    Thanks in advance

    Llewelyn

There's a guy on eBay by the name of jepsen57 who sells nothing but restored Beolits.  I'd try to pick his brain.

I can probably help with the base plate. PM me your address. The speaker is going to be harder to source.

    Message sent! Thanks Stonk!

I had a look at the eBay seller but he didn't seem to have any refurbished radios, just ones that are in good condition - I might send him a message if I am struggling. Thanks for the link :)

    Stonk! An amzing fit Laughing

A thousand thanks! It's not in too bad shape considering it is the bottom part of a 30+ year old portable radio!

I owe you big style for this!

Beggars can't be choosers my dear old chap!

Thanks to Peter and Nigel I am now the proud owner of an original spec black baseplate. In the meantime, the silver one donated to me by Stonk was far better than no baseplate Wink

Very glad you got it all original. These Beolit's are worth it!

I must say that Trigi's (Peter) non selfish atitude to give away a very rare and much sort after speaker is remarkable. What a stunningly nice fellowBeer
